Having just returned from a great holiday in the Alps, we received the delightful news that we’ve been commissioned by a large client from the financial sector with the development of a technical proof of concept in an optical-character-recognition context. OCR describes the process of converting image information into textual data. The objective of this development effort is to employ machine learning and artifical intelligence in the automated recognition of document types and the extraction of business-relevant information from scanned documents.

LangTec is Founding Member of the ZIM Network Morpheus

Objective of the newly formed ZIM Network Morpheus is to fund small and medium businesses (SMB) in their coorperation with large enterprises and public research institutions in innovative projects. The network focuses on the application of speech, text and data analytics in medicine, medical technology and life sciences. The consortium comprises a total of 23 companies: German SMBs, public research institutions such as the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Technology as well as the two pharmaceutical corporations AbbVie and Boehringer Ingelheim.
